PRIVACY POLICY
RemoteBeam — Privacy Policy Last updated 11 September 2026
RemoteBeam does not collect, transmit or sell any personal data of its own. There is no account to create and no server to sign in to. Everything the app remembers stays on this phone, and every command travels directly to your TV across your own Wi-Fi network. The app does show ads, delivered by Google — the section on advertising below explains exactly what that involves and the choices you have.
Information we collect
RemoteBeam itself collects nothing: no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting. We operate no servers that your phone contacts. The only third party that processes data through the app is Google's advertising service, described in the advertising section below.
Information stored on your device
So the app can work, it saves the following locally on your phone only:
• Your saved TVs — the name you give them, the brand and model the TV reports, and its address on your home network. • Pairing credentials — the code or key your TV issues when you link it. These are encrypted using the Android Keystore and are excluded from device backups. • Your preferences — theme, button size, haptics and similar settings.
This information never leaves your device. It is not readable by us or by anyone else.
How the app uses your network
For TV control, RemoteBeam communicates only with devices on your local Wi-Fi network. To find your TV it asks devices on that network to identify themselves, and to control your TV it sends commands straight to it. Loading advertisements uses the internet, as described below; your TV commands never leave your home network.
Advertising
RemoteBeam is funded by ads served through Google (Google Mobile Ads / AdMob). When ads are shown, Google and its partners may use information such as your device's advertising identifier, IP address and general device details to deliver and measure ads. On first use, Google's consent form lets you choose between personalised and non-personalised advertising where the law requires that choice, and you can revisit that choice at any time via Settings → Ads → Privacy choices. If you watch the optional rewarded ad, Google confirms the reward so the app can hide all ads for 15 minutes; this involves no personal data from us because we hold none.
Permissions and why they are needed
• Network and Wi-Fi state — to know whether you are on Wi-Fi and to find your TV's network. • Local network and internet access — to open connections to your TV. Android classes local network sockets under the internet permission even though the app does not use the internet. • Multicast — to let TVs answer discovery requests. • Vibration — for button feedback, which you can switch off.
RemoteBeam requests no location, camera, microphone, contacts, photo or storage permissions.
Children's privacy
RemoteBeam is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, including children under 13.
Keeping and deleting your data
Your data stays on your phone until you remove it. You can erase every saved TV, all pairing credentials and all preferences at any time from Settings using "Erase all saved data". Uninstalling the app also removes everything. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for you to request from us and nothing for us to delete on your behalf.
Third parties
The only third-party service included is Google's advertising SDK (Google Mobile Ads and the User Messaging Platform), which serves the ads and the consent form. Google's own privacy policy governs the data it processes: https://policies.google.com/technologies/ads. RemoteBeam includes no analytics providers and no social media SDKs.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will appear here with a new date, and the change will be described in the app's release notes on Google Play. If we ever introduce a feature that collects data, we will say so plainly before it takes effect.

───TERMS OF USE
RemoteBeam — Terms of Use Last updated 11 September 2026
RemoteBeam is a remote control for smart TVs you own or are permitted to use. It is provided as-is, free of charge, and is not affiliated with or endorsed by any TV manufacturer.
Using the app
By installing or using RemoteBeam you agree to these terms. RemoteBeam is licensed to you for personal, non-commercial use on devices you own or control. You may not resell the app, or attempt to reverse engineer it except where that right cannot be restricted by law.
Control only your own devices
You agree to use RemoteBeam only with televisions and media devices that you own or have permission to operate. Using it to interfere with equipment belonging to others, or with any network you are not authorised to use, is not permitted.
Trademarks and independence
RemoteBeam is an independent application. It is not affiliated with, authorised by, endorsed by, or in any way officially connected to Roku, Samsung, LG, Sony, Panasonic, Philips, Vizio, Hisense, TCL, Sharp, Toshiba, Xiaomi, Amazon, Google, NVIDIA, or any other manufacturer. All product names, logos, brands and trademarks are the property of their respective owners and are used only to describe which televisions this app can communicate with.
Compatibility is not guaranteed
RemoteBeam controls televisions using the network protocols each manufacturer provides. Those protocols differ between brands, models, regions and firmware versions, and a manufacturer may change or withdraw one at any time through a TV software update. We therefore cannot guarantee that any particular television will work, or will keep working. A television that offers no network remote feature cannot be controlled by this or any other app.
No warranty
RemoteBeam is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the app. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, and nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated as the app develops. The current version always appears here with its date, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the updated terms.
